Publish builds your app and serves it at its own address: <name>.pre.dev, or your custom domain. The published version stays up while the project’s sandbox sleeps, and it changes only when you publish again. Preview keeps showing your latest changes, the draft.

Publish your app

  1. Open Publish, the rocket in the project header. It appears once the project has a build.
  2. Choose Publish. pre.dev runs the app’s build script in the sandbox and deploys the output.
  3. Open or copy the link when the app is live.
When newer changes are ready, the header shows it; choose Publish update to ship them to the same address. Every publish is kept as a version, listed under Versions with its note. People who can edit the project can publish. You can also ask the agent to publish. In the CLI, /publish publishes (add a short note to describe the version, as in /publish new pricing page) and /unpublish takes the app down.

Who can open it

Set access in the Publish sheet. It applies to both links Share offers, the published app and the draft. The Publish button leaves access as it is. When you ask the agent to publish or share an app that is Invited only, it also sets access to Anyone and tells you. Collaboration covers inviting people.

When a free window ends, the address shows a paused page until you republish.

What gets published

Publish serves the files the app’s build script writes to dist, build, or out (the folder must contain index.html), plus the app’s built-in AI route, so AI features keep working. The project needs a package.json with a build script; the build runs in the sandbox, which wakes if it is asleep. Server code, such as API routes, payment and webhook handlers, runs in the project’s sandbox, which Preview and the Draft link reach. It does not run at the published address.

Address and custom domain

While no custom domain is active, change the name in the address under Address in the Publish sheet. Premium and higher plans can connect a custom domain; it then serves the published app.

Unpublish

Choose Unpublish at the bottom of the Publish sheet and confirm. The published version comes down, and the app’s address shows the latest draft from the sandbox again, with the same access setting.
